Hold onto your spatulas, folks, because it’s almost time for Epiphany Lutheran’s Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! Dust off your favorite stretchy pants and get ready for a night filled with fluffy pancakes, savory sausages, and a side of community cheer.
Shrove Tuesday will be on March 4th, 2025, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm!
Now, you might be wondering, “What on earth is Shrove Tuesday, a.k.a. Fat Tuesday?” Well, it’s the delicious curtain call before Lent begins—where we say goodbye to indulgent foods just like they did in the days of old. The term “Shrove” comes from the word “Shrive,” which means to repent. Back in the day, this meant clearing out the butter, eggs, and milk—perfect pancake-making materials—in preparation for Lenten fasting.
Join us for a festive night of fellowship, food, and celebration as we gather to reflect on all that Christ has done! We will be serving delicious sausage and pancakes with a variety of rich toppings, accompanied by traditional Mardi Gras music, festive beads, fun children’s activities, and plenty of joy.
One of the evening’s highlights will be our children creating Alleluia banners to take home and hide, as we symbolically “bury” our Alleluias in worship until Easter morning, when we will joyfully celebrate the resurrection of our King!
This is a free event, and everyone is welcome—so bring your friends, family, and neighbors! This is a wonderful opportunity to share your faith and celebrate together as a community. While the event is free, we kindly ask that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly. As always, a goodwill offering basket will be available for those who wish to contribute.
We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
