Epiphany Students Shine in Spring Concert
This year marked Mrs. Hill’s first year teaching at Epiphany Lutheran School, and it has been a year filled with growth, learning, and musical accomplishment. Mrs. Hill shared how blessed she has felt to work with such willing, hardworking, and talented students who eagerly took the skills they learned and continued to grow as musicians throughout the year.
During the spring semester, students dedicated nearly two months to preparing for Solo & Ensemble performances before shifting their focus to Spring Concert music. The concert program was thoughtfully selected to highlight a variety of instrument groups and challenge students in new ways.
The 5th and 6th grade band performed Robin Hood and the Golden Arrow, which showcased the talents of the clarinet and percussion sections, while Summer Thunder gave the woodwinds and trombones an opportunity to shine. In the Middle School Band, students explored exciting new rhythms and harmonies through Latin Fire, building both confidence and musical skill.
A special recognition goes to the 5th and 6th grade percussion section, whose members stepped up in a big way by performing with both ensembles during the concert. Their dedication and teamwork played an important role in the success of the performances.
The concert concluded with Aftershock, an emotional and technically demanding piece portraying the devastation of an earthquake and the emotional “aftermath” that follows. Students rose to the challenge, delivering strong, mature sounds and demonstrating just how much they have developed over the course of the year.
Mrs. Hill expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to teach and encourage these students, not only in music but also in their walk with Christ. She also thanked the administration, faculty, and families for their continued support throughout her first year at Epiphany.
