Sunday, September 24, 2023, is Stephen Ministry Sunday. We will celebrate this ministry during both services and enjoy how God works through this fantastic program. Stephen Ministry offers a proven and effective way to organize, equip, and supervise a team of congregation members—called Stephen Ministers—to provide high-quality, one-on-one, Christ-centered care to people in the congregation experiencing life difficulties. Stephen Ministry multiplies blessings throughout our church family.
Here is how:
- Congregations carry out Christ’s commandment to “Love one another as I have loved you” (John 15:12 RSV) powerfully and practically.
- Pastors have a team of gifted, trained, and committed lay caregivers ready to minister to those in need.
- Laypeople nurture and use their gifts in meaningful ministry, growing spiritually as they serve others.
- People experiencing a time of need have a caring Christian presence to provide emotional and spiritual support.
In short, Stephen’s Ministry helps carry out the church’s mission. We are thankful to have many dedicated members who have undergone extensive training and are ready to help any member navigate a challenging time.
