Sundae Funday: Youth Share Faith and Fellowship

Our youth program gathered on Sunday for a delightful morning filled with fun, fellowship, and ice cream sundaes! Some of our brave elementary kids, along with a pre-K friend, stepped up to teach the older ones about prayer using banana splits, leading us in the Lord’s Prayer.

They shared that the banana symbolizes praying to God our Father, the ice cream represents giving thanks to the Lord (because there’s a lot to be thankful for!), the toppings remind us of our requests, and the cherry on top signifies ending our prayer in Jesus’ name.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed playing and chatting, highlighting the fact that bonds form no matter your age. Our church is a space of love and acceptance, a judgment-free zone where you are welcome, regardless of your worries or social status. As Jesus taught, we come as we are, and today’s gathering embodied that spirit.

Let’s keep shining Jesus’ light, inspired by our youth who demonstrate it so wonderfully. Next time you spot a banana split, remember to pray and give thanks for the blessings in your life. You’re always welcome in our community!
