Elevate’s Spook-tacular Halloween Lock-In was a Haunting Success!

Last weekend, our Senior High Youth gathered for the much-anticipated Halloween party, and wow—what a night it was! We kicked things off at the church before heading to Dewberry Farms for some serious nighttime thrills.

First up, the corn maze. Let’s just say, we thought we’d breeze through it, but those twists and turns had us feeling like we might be in there forever! Next, we braved a spooky hayride that took us deep into the dark woods, where we dared to walk through the terrifying “Trail of Terror.” Then, it was time to face the haunted barn, where more than a few of us jumped, screamed, and clung to each other for dear life. We definitely tested our bravery (and our vocal cords)!

After the chills, we headed back to the church for a feast of tacos that hit the spot, followed by a pumpkin-carving showdown. We got pretty creative with those pumpkins before moving on to some games, loads of laughs, and a scary movie that capped off our Halloween fun.

The next morning, we woke up to an amazing breakfast—think scrambled eggs, bacon, and biscuits and gravy, all courtesy of our wonderful helpers. Then we had a devotion on the real meaning behind Halloween. We learned how Halloween, or “All Hallows’ Eve,” is actually the night before All Saints’ Day, a time the church set aside to honor saints and all faithful people who have gone before us. Instead of just being about mischief, Halloween is a time to celebrate and remember the holy people in our lives.

A huge shoutout to Michael & Jenny Cammack for helping with transportation and to Linda & Bob Ham for the fantastic dinner and breakfast! Check out the photos to see some of the fun and frights we shared—until next year’s lock-in! 🎃👻
