Join the Spirit of Giving: ELS Student Council’s Christmas Service Project
The ELS Student Council warmly invites you to participate in our heartwarming Christmas Service Project! As we embrace the season of giving, we have a wonderful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in need. From December 2nd to December 18th, we are collecting book donations at Epiphany Lutheran School and Church to support “Books Between Kids,” an inspiring organization dedicated to empowering Houston’s at-risk children through the gift of books.
Why Books Matter
Did you know that more than 60% of lower-income families do not have books for their children? Books Between Kids aims to change this by providing children with the resources to create their own personal libraries at home. By donating books, you’re not just giving a child a story to enjoy; you’re opening the door to a world of imagination, learning, and growth.
How You Can Help
Our goal is to collect 100 books, and with your generosity, we can surely exceed it! We are accepting both gently-used and new books appropriate for ages 3-11. We kindly ask that donated books be free from rips, tears, or writing to ensure they are ready to bring joy to their new owners.
Books can be dropped off in the specially “designated” Christmas Boxes located at the School Office or Church Office at Epiphany. Look for the festive boxes and help us bring the spirit of Christmas to life through literacy and learning.

This is a wonderful opportunity for families, students, and community members to come together and share the joy of reading with children who need it the most. Whether you’re clearing some space on your bookshelf or picking up a few extra treasures during your holiday shopping, your contribution will light up young lives this holiday season.
