Faithfully Human in an AI World
If you’ve wondered what all the fuss about artificial intelligence is really about, you’re not alone. AI is reshaping our schools, our workplaces, and our families in ways both exciting and sometimes unsettling. The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone, and you definitely don’t need a computer science degree to understand what’s happening.
That’s why we’re hosting “Faithfully Human in an AI World,” a community conversation right here at Epiphany on Thursday, May 28th. This is our chance to explore these big questions together, as a church community and as neighbors, with the wisdom and care that faith brings to how we engage with the world around us.
Why This Matters Right Now
AI isn’t something happening “out there” anymore. Your child’s teacher might be using it in the classroom. You might encounter it at work. It’s shaping how we communicate, learn, and make decisions every single day. The challenge is that most of us don’t really know what it is, what it does, or how to think about it in a way that honors our values.
That’s where this forum comes in. Rather than a technical conference full of jargon, think of it as a real conversation among real people who have the same questions you do.
Who Should Come
If any of these sound like you, we’d love to see you there:
You’re a parent trying to understand what your kids are using at school. You’re an educator wondering how to teach wisely in an AI-shaped world. You’re a student navigating tools that are changing faster than you can keep up. You work somewhere that’s adopting AI and you want to think through the implications. Or maybe you’re simply someone who cares about what it means to stay human, thoughtful, and faithful as technology evolves.
No tech background needed. Just bring your curiosity and your questions.
What Will Happen
Michael Copp will kick things off with a keynote that cuts through the hype and helps us understand what AI actually is and isn’t. Then we’ll hear from local voices in our community who are thinking about how AI shows up in their work and their lives. Most importantly, there will be plenty of time for your questions and for genuine conversation.
You’ll leave with practical insights you can actually use, whether you’re navigating this at home, in school, or at work. More than that, you’ll know you’re not facing these questions alone.
