Learn How HMH Into Reading Supports Epiphany Students
What will Epiphany’s new English Language Arts curriculum look like for your family? In a new video, Principal Matt Schleicher joins Mrs. Sara Pinto to introduce HMH Into Reading and HMH Into Literature.
Students in grades 2–5 will use HMH Into Reading, while sixth graders will move into HMH Into Literature. Together, these programs create a vertically aligned learning path that develops literacy skills from one grade to the next and into middle school.
Mr. Schleicher and Mrs. Pinto discuss the materials students will bring home, the program’s foundation in the science of reading, and the on-campus training Epiphany teachers received from an HMH specialist. They also explain how the school will track meaningful growth through MAP data and Lexile levels.
HMH, or Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, is one of the nation’s largest publishers, with literacy materials reaching more than four million students each year. This curriculum change is designed to engage, encourage, and enrich our students as they grow into confident readers and learners.
Whether your child is entering second grade or preparing for sixth grade, this conversation offers a helpful look at what is changing, why it matters, and what families can expect at home.
