Kindergarten students wrapped up their first Superkids unit by bringing the beloved story of Stone Soup to life in the classroom. Both kindergarten classes read the same book, but each made their own pot of soup — two classrooms, one story, two delicious pots of Stone Soup.

After reading the tale together, students in each class got to work, with every child contributing a vegetable and one special stone added for good measure. The soup simmered throughout the day as everyone eagerly waited to taste the results. When it was finally ready, the shared meal was a hit! The reviews were mixed, but this year brought more thumbs-up than thumbs-down.

It was a fun, hands-on way for our young learners to explore a favorite story, share together, and celebrate all they’ve learned. More than anything, it offered a joyful reminder that everyone’s contribution can help create something wonderful.
