Fifth graders recently brought their learning to the stage as they wrapped up their reading unit on genres. While exploring plays, students learned how authors organize stories into scenes and use important events in each scene to move the story forward.

For their culminating activity, students used scripts, followed stage directions, gathered props, and wore costumes as they performed a play for Epiphany’s second and third graders. It was a fun opportunity to put reading skills into action while engaging and encouraging a younger audience.
