Astros Orbit Brings Character Lessons to Epiphany
The Worship Center at Epiphany Lutheran Church & School reached unprecedented noise levels recently when a very special guest took the stage—Orbit, the beloved mascot of the Houston Astros!
The furry, green visitor captivated students with an entertaining and educational presentation on the “Six Pillars of Character,” a program designed to help young people develop strong moral foundations. Through interactive games, exciting prizes, and Orbit’s signature antics, students learned about becoming their best selves through:
- Trustworthiness – Being honest and reliable
- Respect – Treating others with dignity
- Responsibility – Being accountable for your actions
- Fairness – Playing by the rules and taking turns
- Caring – Being kind and compassionate
- Citizenship – Doing your part to make your community better
The energy in the room was electric as students cheered, participated in games, and competed for prizes. The enthusiasm was so overwhelming that staff members agreed they had never heard the Worship Center quite so loud—a testament to the engaging and impactful nature of Orbit’s visit.
This memorable event combined fun with valuable life lessons, giving our students an experience they won’t soon forget while reinforcing the character values we hold dear at Epiphany.
