Welcome to the very first episode of Different Pews, Same Promise! Hosted by Michael Copp, this podcast is dedicated to teaching people about Jesus and the amazing promise given to us by God, regardless of the different ways we come to the church.

In our debut episode, Michael is joined by a very special guest: his 3rd-grade son, Toby! Listen in as Toby shares his perspective on attending Epiphany Lutheran School, his love for the Denver Nuggets, and why he enjoys going to church. Michael and Toby also dive into the upcoming season of Lent, discussing the meaning behind Ash Wednesday and Shrove Tuesday, and their family’s plan to unplug from devices to spend more time focusing on God.

In this episode, we cover:

  • Toby’s background and his journey from Pilgrim Lutheran to Epiphany Lutheran.
  • The everyday joys of being a 3rd grader, from recess dodgeball to making paper crafts.
  • What Lent is, the history behind giving things up for 40 days, and how we can use this season to draw our eyes back to God.
