DPSP Season 2 Episode 1: What is going on in the world today?!?!
Season 2 of Different Pews, Same Promise is here, with Mike, Ruben, Derek, and Channing back around the table for a conversation that moves from honest reflection to plenty of laughs.
In this first episode of the new season, the guys dive into the growing role of AI in everyday life, the church, education, and faith conversations. How should we think about technology as followers of Jesus? What does it mean for how we learn, connect, and share our faith? They explore these questions in a way that is thoughtful, down-to-earth, and rooted in trust that God is still at work in a changing world.
The conversation also spends time on communion and confirmation in the Lutheran Church, looking at why these gifts and teachings matter for young people, families, and the life of the church today. Together, they reflect on how God uses these moments to engage us in faith, encourage us with grace, and enrich our walk with Christ.
From there, the focus turns to the mental health struggles many youth and young adults face: pressure, anxiety, identity questions, loneliness, and the weight of growing up in a fast-moving, always-connected culture. In a world that often feels overwhelming, the guys keep pointing back to the steady hope we have in Christ and the unshakable promise of God’s love.
And of course, it wouldn’t be Different Pews, Same Promise without some basketball talk, friendly disagreements, jokes, and good-natured banter. Season 2 begins with faith, friendship, laughter, and real conversation about the things shaping our world and our daily walk with Jesus.
Whether you’re a teen, a parent, or simply curious about how faith connects with real life, this is a great time to jump in and listen.
