Discover Big Gospel Truths in Small Bible Books
This summer in Sunday School, we are diving into some of the Bible’s shortest books and letters to discover how powerfully God speaks through just a few chapters.
Each week, we will focus on one brief biblical book or group of books, looking at:
– John’s letters and what they teach us about truth and love
– James and his call to a living, active faith
– Jonah and God’s surprising mercy for people who don’t deserve it
Together, we’ll read these books through a Christ-centered, Lutheran lens and ask important questions like:
– What does this book teach us about sin and grace?
– How does it shape our understanding of faith and good works?
– What do we learn about the Church and our life together?
– How does it point us to the mercy of God in Christ?
Sunday mornings, all summer long. Here is the full week-by-week lineup:
- June 14: 1, 2, & 3 John
- June 21: James
- June 28: Philemon
- July 5: Jude
- July 12: Obadiah
- July 19: Titus
- July 26: 2 Thessalonians
- August 2: Haggai
- August 9: Nahum
- August 16: Jonah
Whether you’re newer to the Bible or have been reading it for years, this class offers an engaging way to see how even the “short and sweet” books are full of God’s powerful Word. Come ready to explore, ask questions, and be encouraged as we engage Scripture together and let the Gospel enrich our lives.
