Hodos Young Adult Gathering: New Opportunities for Epiphany
Epiphany has a special opportunity to be part of something big happening in the wider Lutheran Church. Our own Vicar Copp has been selected as one of 50 influencers for Hodos, a new LCMS movement focused on forming, connecting, and encouraging young adults in their faith.
Hodos is working toward a national Lutheran Young Adult Gathering in 2027 for young adults ages 18–29. The heart of this gathering is to help young adults grow in Christ, be strengthened in their Lutheran faith, build meaningful Christian community, and be encouraged to live out their vocations in the church and in the world.
As part of this effort, Vicar Copp will travel to Omaha, Nebraska, June 22–26 for the Hodos Influencers Gathering. He will join leaders and voices from across the LCMS to help shape, plan, and support this national young adult initiative.
This work matters deeply. Young adults are walking through a season of life filled with big questions about faith, identity, purpose, community, work, relationships, and belonging. As the Church, we have a beautiful opportunity to walk alongside them with the hope of the Gospel, the gifts of Word and Sacrament, and the support of a faithful Christian community.
Through this gathering, Vicar Copp hopes to encourage and enrich the lives of the young adults God places in his path. He also hopes to represent Epiphany well, learn as much as he can, and bring back ideas and encouragement that can bless our congregation, our young adults, our families, and our future ministry together.
This is not only a blessing for the larger Lutheran Church, but also for our ministry here at Epiphany as we continue to think and pray about how we support youth, young adults, families, and the next generation of Lutherans.
You are invited to support this work in two important ways. First, please keep this project, the Hodos leadership team, the influencers gathering, and all the young adults who may be reached through this effort in your prayers. Pray also that Vicar Copp would represent Epiphany well and return with wisdom and encouragement that can strengthen our ministry here.
Second, Hodos is working to raise $1 million to help support as much of the national Young Adult Gathering as possible during the week in Omaha. If you would like to help support this effort financially, you can give below.
