Middle School Creates Lasting Memories at Camp Lonestar
Almost the entire Middle School from Epiphany Lutheran Church recently returned from an unforgettable several-day adventure at Camp Lonestar, where students grew closer to God, bonded as a community, and experienced the beauty of His creation firsthand.
A special thank you goes to Mr. and Mrs. Copp and the dedicated parents who attended as chaperones! Their commitment and support made this experience possible for our students.
Faith Through Nature
Throughout their stay, students participated in outdoor experiential learning that combined physical challenges with spiritual growth. The trip’s activities were carefully designed to help young people strengthen their relationship with God while learning about the natural world around them.
Each evening, the group gathered for devotions and worship, singing songs around the campfire under the stars. These moments of reflection and praise provided a powerful backdrop for students to connect with their faith in meaningful ways.
Building Character and Community
The trip emphasized team building, which is why most of the middle school participated together. Students tackled high ropes courses and problem-solving challenges that required cooperation, trust, and encouragement. Through activities like the challenge course, fire-building, and cooking meals over their campfires, students learned to work together and support one another.
Nature hikes allowed students to explore Camp Lone Star’s surroundings, while several educational sessions deepened their understanding and appreciation of God’s creation. The weather-dependent outdoor activities kept everyone flexible and adaptable throughout their stay.
Gratitude
We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support leading up to this event. The students remained safe, had tremendous fun, and returned home with strengthened faith and friendships that will last for years to come.
